Hi,

I have a PC with Windows XP. My daugther has changed the password of the
local admin and everyone cannot access the files. Is there a way to reset
this password.

Do you mean no one can log on or they have lost access to certain files
after logging on?

Go to http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ and download the boot
disk, this will enable you to reset any system password on an NT class
operating system.

Boot into Safe Mode and remove the password. Once there, go to
Start/Control Panel/User Passwords.....

How to boot into Safe Mode:

You need to hit F8 during boot, just after the BIOS info switches to black
screen. Or...

Go to Start/Run/Msconfig. Boot.Ini and check off /SafeBoot. Apply/Ok,
reboot.
Note: Before leaving safe mode, revert.

And once you have done all that has been suggested, downgrade your
daughter's account to LIMITED and put a very strong password on any
Administrator accounts you have AND DON'T TELL HER HOW TO CRACK THEM!"
