Admin File locked

I am experiencing some problems with Access 2000 Databases, when a user tries
to open up the Database they sometimes get a message saying the Admin File is
Locked other times they can login as normal. This has just started happening
to a number of our Databases and the only way we can seem to solve the
problem and get the users logged in is by rebooting there machine (sometimes
needs rebooted twice).

All of the Databases are running off a server using Access 2k Runtime and
are delivered to the users via Citrix. As I have said this problem has only
just started occuring and with different databases all of the time.

Anyone any ideas??

Thanks

If you have not already I suggest that the next time it happens find out
who is logged into the database. Microsoft has a utility to do just that. I
can't think of the name of it right now. I don't use it at home. :) Then
check each one of those to see if one of them may be unknowingly (or
knowingly) opening the file exclusively. If you find that only one person
is listed and they are not really connected, check that persons rights to
the directory they need full rights. Open create edit delete etc. This
would be a network sharing rights issue.

I seem to recall at least on other problem, but I don't recall the
details, I suspect someone who has actual experience with it will be along
before long to help.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply

I have already checked the folder permissions and everything seems to be in
order (nothing has changed) and everything has been working for the last 18
months at least so I don't think it is a permissions problem (is it?).

If it was a permissions problems it wouldn't explian why a reboot solves the
problem would it??

Thanks
