This question relates to Windows XP home edition. I am not able to log in to
the computer with the "administrator" account. The error message is "unable
to log you on because of an account restriction." I haven't use this account
for a long time. I had put in a password for that account. I was able to log
in with that password before. Now I get this error message. Any explanation
why?

In XP Home you must boot into Safe Mode to access the built-in Administrator
account

Windows XP Home Edition's "administrator" account (the user originally by
the name of "administrator" - the built-in one...) is only accessible
through Safe Mode. Boot into Safe Mode and you can logon as
"administrator" - given you know the proper password (if any exists) for the
account.
