I am using a 15 inch monitor. Is there anyway to automatically adjust XP
window size to conform to the monitor size so that when the window opens I
see the entire window? right now the only way I can see scroll bars is to
manually reduce the window size using the middle button on the top right of
the window. Thanks.

You need to change the screen to a higher resolution. Resolution is the
number of pixels vertically and horizontally (e.g., 1024 x 768) and
depends on the video card, monitor capabilities and the video drivers
installed.

Right click the Desktop then click "Settings" tab. Move the slider bar
for "Screen Resolution" to the right to a higher settings. Under "Color
Depth" select "High (24 bit)" or "Highest (32 bit)" colors. Click
"Apply" button. If you cannot change these then you have one of the
following problems:

1) Video drivers are either not installed or corrupted.
2) Video Adapter Card does not support higher resolutions.
3) Monitor does not support high resolutions.

You can check for driver errors by opening "Control Panel" and double
click on the "System" icon. Click on the "Hardware" tab. Click the
"Device Manager" button. Find the "Display Adapter" in the list. If a
yellow icon appears next to it there is a problem with the drivers
installed. Right click the item and select "Properties", then click the
"Driver" tab. If you have your driver disk you can reinstall the driver
then.

It seems that is not Windows problem, but your monitor instead, and you
have to adjust your monitor using its own controls: decrease vertical
and horizontal size of the picture it shows.
