Adjusting Column Width in a Table

I have inserted a table in my Word document and would like to adjust the size of the last row of the table only. I would like to make the last row in both columns of this two column table smaller while leaving all of the other rows at thier current width. How do I go about this? Thank you in advance for your response. I am using Word 2000.

Put your cursor in the relevant cell. Now hold down the "CTRL" + "SHIFT" keys plus press a right or left arrow key . That should select the entire cell. Now drag the appropriate cell edge and it should move just that cell's edge, instead of the entire column or row.
