Fixed table width - please help

Can anyone tell me how to set fixed column widths in a table...
the question on the exam was something like... make a 4x6 table with .5"
fixed column widths. Is there a setting for this? I made the table but
never saw anything that said "fixed column widths"

In Word 2003 it's on the Table > AutoFit menu. In Word 2007 it's on the Table
Tools > Layout tab of the ribbon, on the AutoFit button.
