Web site looks fine in design view, but browser preview shows yellow
background in some of the text boxes.

Because that's what causes the problem.

Sounds like you may have the Google toolbar installed. This would turn
remembered fields yellow.

I will try it. I can't give you an immediate answer as the problem is
occurring on my friends computer and will have to have him check this out.
His Front Page is 2003 while mine (where the site was designed) is 2002.
Possible contributing factor?

Because some of the tex boxes are white and some yellow. Kind of makes the
web site a little tacky.

This thread interests me.

I have a drop down menu in a frame with a background image - a nice
parchment gif
This is the menu
<form>
<select onChange="if(options[selectedIndex].value)
top.location.href=(options[selectedIndex].value)">
<option>---Select one---</option>
<option value="http://........./">
Martin</option>
<option value="http://......../.">
Graham</option>
</select>
</form>

The problem is that the boxes in the menu are white. It would be nice to
have the same background.

I have tried various things such as a style for form in the <head> seciotn
<style type="text/css">
form {background: parchmnt.gif}
</style>

I also tried form {bg-color:gray} as a compromise.
I haven't suceeded yet.

How can one get a background color or gif on these text boxes?

You'd have to tell your viewers to remove Google Search toolbar then.

You don't have to remove it, just turn off the auto-fill feature. But
chances are, the users know what it is and see it (and use it) on a lot of
the sites they visit. I find it a great time saver. I wouldn't worry about
it.

i use it all the time too, once you know what the yellow is coming from it's not a big issue i don' think.
