ADHOC setup help needed

have just installed 2 belkin wireless network cards, The configuration i
am using is adhoc (peer to peer) as i do not have a router. have
configured cards correctly (with help from Belkin) I would like some
help in setting up the network settings on both the main pc and my
daughters pc upstairs, both pc's have xp home edition.
I just dont know how to set up both pc to talk to each other via the
wireless link (i am a newbie). any ideas how to set these up would be
fantastic.
