Address Window Searches...Not happening

I inadvertantly downloaded third party software which
caused my browser to go through their site for searches %
$#*! Add/remove programs would not uninstall it so after
2 hours of searching I finally located the program on my
harddrive and manually deleted it. Well it
worked....except now I can't perform internet searches by
typing the search word in the address bar. I've tried
reinstalling Internet Explorer...but it didn't help.

HELP!
