Address box

If I enter a letter, say 'w' into the URL Address text
box, IE displays a drop down list. Where does it get this
list? How can I delete the contents of this list? I have
tried deleting temporary files, cookies etc to no avail.

Go to Tools > Options > General tab. Delete History and set the number of
days to keep history to 0.

Have you tried IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-AutoComplete?
