I have a large distribution list for a contact group and went to delete just
one name and e-mail and the entire contact group has disappeared! When I
went to delete the name I clicked on it and hit the "x" for delete. What did
I do wrong and can I get it back? I would not be able to replicate it
completely.

Not an answer to your question, but a suggestion to stop this happening
again. Don't use Distribution Lists at all. Use Categories.

What you did wrong is click Delete. Instead you click Remove to remove a
member. As with any Outlook item, if you delete something it goes into the
Deleted Items folder. Get it back from there or, if you emptied it alreday,
from a recent backup of your Outlook data.
