I've recently HAD to start using Outlook instead of Outlook Express.I have
many contacts and groups in OE. Church buddies as a group, for example, with
7 or 8 contacts in it.
How do I duplicate that method in Outlook?? And there has to be a way to get
all my contacts imported. I can import them, but they only import the ones
NOT in groups, in the main identity only.
many many thanks

It's not that bad. Many people actually prefer it.

Create a group in your contacts folder.

See if http://www.slipstick.com/config/convaddr.htm helps.

The counterparts to groups in the Windows Address Book is Distribution Lists
in Outlook's Contacts Folder.
With very rare exception, you cannot import groups from OE into Outlook.

Okay, for those of you who might need it, it IS possible:
New, Folder, Contacts, name what you want, then
select all and drag the contents of Outlook Express folders into the new one
in Outlook. Click save on each one.
Sheez, I did it, finally. haha

For many users, the groups won't work as DL's after this method. Hopefully,
yours will.

Indeed, groups cannot be dragged and dropped in the current version, or any
version I can remember using.

Well, ok, maybe "groups" was the wrong word. I just dragged the CONTENTS of
the groups, the contacts, and it worked fine. Selected all and pulled over.
That make better sense??

Right. But since your original question was about groups, I thought it
important to clarify for anyone reading this post who thought you could
transfer them.
Drag and drop is no different than importing your Contacts from OE.
