Address book in Office (Outlook) 2003

I just installed office 2003 pro over office 2000 pro and everything seems
fine except for my global address book is unavailable from outlook. All of my
contacts show up when I go to the "Contacts" button but if I no longer get
address "hints" by typing a partial in the "TO" line of a new message and of
course I see an empty address book when I click on the "TO" button. Did the
installation overwrite my global address book or is it sitting somewhere?

TIA

Why did you install Office Outlook 2003 without consulting your Exchange
Administrator on how to do so?
Your post defies reality when you say "I no longer get hints when I type in
the 'TO' line." Since Outlook 2000 never had this feature, one must wonder
what feature you imagine you are missing. Clarify the discrepancies in your
post.
