If you want to do that selectively, highlight the address you wish to remove
and hit delete on your keyboard.

If you wish to remove all address, in IE go to Tools, Internet Options and
hit Clear History on the general tab. If you really want to be sure all
remnants of your activities are gone, also hit delete files and accept the
option to delete all offline content.

You might also want to turn off the autocomplete function; go to the Content
tab in Internet Options above, click autocomplete, remove the checks from
autocomplete options. Also, go to the Advanced tab and under security
check, "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed." One
further step you might employ is on the General tab, set "Days to keep pages
in history to 1 or even zero.

This doesn't mean there will be no remnants left behind but it will keep you
pretty clean. If this is a work computer or you have a suspicious spouse or
parent, they can easily get around all of this by installing a key stroke
recorder on your system.
