Address Bar Vanished

N

Nowhere to go....

Having some trouble. Had a 'popup explosion' this
morning, and after rebooting, no address bad in internet
explorer. If I right click and check properties, there
is a check next to address bar, but still no address bar.

At a loss..... HELP

Right click the toolbar and make sure that Lock Toolbars is not checked and
that Address Bar is checked.
Grab the handle at the left end of each toolbar and drag them down. One of
them is probably hiding the Address bar.

Download Address Bar fix from here:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_toolbarfix.htm

(or)

Download IE Addressbar fix from here:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IEToolbar.reg

Deletes the following registry key; Resets Toolbar, Addressbar positions to
defaults. Restores hidden/missing bars:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Already tried the ietoolbar.reg downloda which I found in
a previous post. That did nothing. Right clicking shows
me toolbar checked, and I've made sure it's not
hidden...fact is, it's vanished. I was assuming registry
problem.

Any other ideas?

The toolbar fix should reset the registry key correctly. If not, try
removing the key manually.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

You need to close all browser windows before trying this: If this did not
help, download Hijackthis and post the log file here.
