address bar -slow response - must type full URL

When using the address bar to go to a web site like
www.microsoft.com I get a significant delay vs. typing
http://microsoft.com. What seems to be a related problem
is the dropdown history in the address bar also takes an
inordinate amount of time to display.
I have run ad-aware/ shredder /spybot, etc. and don't
think this is the issue - seems like a microsoft search
issue.

I was having the same problem. Consistent 90 second delay in Windows
Explorer and to get to a web site entered in the Address bar of IE. This was
a big hassle until I found the following fix:

http://groups.google.nl/[email protected]&rnum=2
