additional security if all users log in??

I'm trying to make my computer reasonably secure and have a question
about making all users log in with passwords as a means to minimize
Internet intrusions. Right now, each family member has their own
account and none of us has administrative privileges. This means it's
necessary to log in with a password each time a family member wants to
use the computer. We don't mind doing this, if it's really necessary.

We aren't worried about each other and the house is relatively
secure.....so we don't need passwords to prevent access by
unauthorized users of the system via the kb.

But, will having a password on each account make it harder for a
hacker to gain access to the system if he/she manages to get past the
firewall????

Thanks,

Ari
