Adding Video

B

BGZ

I am a middle school computer teacher that teaches PP in
a Mac environment. I never have a problem adding
Quicktime video (.mov) files to presentations. We are
switching to Office XP and I'm having a lot of trouble
getting video to work! I have tried many videos and most
do not work. I downloaded 2 cartoons "Windows media
Audio/Video Shortcut" is the name of the file after
downloading them. They work when I open them in Windows
Media player, but when I insert them into a PP project
they look like they have been inserted but when you click
on them or run the presentation, they flash and disappear
and will not play. If anyone can tell me how to download
a video file, any video file and how to make it work I
would appreciate it. I am having lots of problems with
this. Thank, Bill

They don't work in PowerPoint since they are "shortcuts".

They shortcuts are probably links to videos on the Internet - and while
Windows Media Player has no problem fetching them and playing, PowerPoint
cannot do the same.

For Mac users who need to compatible with PowerPoint for Windows users, look
for some tips from Vitaliy Kuznetsov:
