Adding user defined fields to mapping for importing cvs or excel

Importing an excell or cvs file I need to be able to import all the colums
into predetermined fields but am not abvle to createthese when custom mapping

Any suggestiong??????

One way is to link the external file instead of importing it, and then use
an append query to move the data into your table, mapping the field names
from the linked table en route.
