I want to import my 2003 outlook contact files into 2007 outlook

I have my contact list in Microsoft Office 2003 on a desk top computer in
Atlanta. I made a CVS file and emailed it to myself in Tampa, FL. Now I
want to download it to my lap top computer in Tampa, FLwith Outlook 2007.
When I open the lap top 2007 to Outlook and go into file, import. Then I
brouse to the OUtlook CVS file on my desk top. when I try to import it it
says," There is a file error in the csv windows translator to build a field
map. Unable to retrieve data, verify correct file, or permission to open ,
or that is not open in another program.

If you'd bothered to do ANY research at all in any of the Outlook groups you
would have seen, on a daily basis, the correct (and easy) way to transfer
Outlook data from one machine to another.
Why did you do an export in the first place? All you needed to do was to
close Outlook, make a copy of the pst file, transfer that to the other
machine and open it.
See here for more info on how to do this:

I haven't tried this (we have so far steered clear of Office 2007) but I
strongly suspect the problem is a fairly simple one, in that the .csv headers
(the first line of the file) do not suit the fieldnames in Outlook 2007. To
find out what these fieldnames should be, do a test export from Outlook 2007,
and examine it to see the differences.

Using a texteditor you should then be able to adjust the O2003 .csv so it
will import the data into the appropriate fields.

Just a guess, but based on experience, should solve it.
