Adding US Holidays to calender??

T

Ted

I've been trying to add US holidays to my calender and I haven't had
any success. I've tried going to tools -> options -> calender options
-> add holidays, and I've noticed that the US holidays is already
checked. But my calender has no US holiday in it. If I uncheck and
then check the US holiday again it says the events are already added,
and asked do I want to add them again. After pressing yes it looks
like its adding them but when I go look they still aren't there. Does
anyone know how I can get the US holiday's added to my calender or get
them to "show up" in the calender??

Thanks,

Ted

Hi there,

I have a similar problem with Outlook 2000 Sp.3 on Windows 2000: I have
added holidays, but outlook will only show holidays from 1999 to 2003 in the
event view, but no future holidays. Any suggestions?

If you're using an older version of Outlook (probably Outlook 2000 or
earlier), you have an outdated holidays file. If you switch the view of
your Calendar folder to "By Category" and look at the Holiday category,
you'll likely see the holidays for past years listed there (probably
multiple times since you added them multiple times when you couldn't see
then in Day/Week/Month view). You'll need to download and install an
updated holidays file. Links to several such files, and instructions for
using them, can be found here:

Alternatively, you could just turn the existing holiday events into
recurring yearly events yourself, so you never have to worry about getting
updated holidays files in the future. For Easter, and any other holidays
that don't repeat in a simple pattern, you'd have to check the Internet for
future dates and just create these holiday events manually. Here's a site
to help you with the Easter dates, at least:
