Adding Numbers to headers and TOC Entries

P

Pat

Using Word 2002, I've got a TOC and H1 entries in the body indexed in the TOC.

I want the H1 entries, and the TOC, to be indexed like this:
1 First Heading
1.1 subheading
1.2 subheading
2 Second heading
etc...

How do I set this up???

Thanks!!!

Sorry to barge in on this post, but the situation has left me no
alternatives. Would the MVP please answer what is going on when I attempt to
ask a question, press New, then press Question, I receive a popup audio click
but no popup window allowing me to ask my question? My email address is
(e-mail address removed). Do not send the answer to the person in this post.

Sorry to barge in on this discussion. I am not able to ask new questions.
When I click New, then click Question, I hear a popup click, then the screen
jumps back to New. What is going on here? My email address is

First, two important Usenet rules:

1) Never post OT (off-topic) questions in support groups, like this one.

2) Never ask for personal e-mail replies. Usenet is a public forum.

The group that would be appropriate for your question is:

microsoft.public.exchange2000.general , since you seem to be using the
Microsoft CDO 2000 newsreader.
