Adding NEWS to Outlook

B

Ben M. Schorr, MVP-OneNote

Hi,

How can I configure to use news in the Outlook 2002 ?
Recently, I imported messages, addresses, etc from the Outlook express,
but to use news I'm still having to use the Outlook Express.

thanx.

There isn't any native way to do it. Your best bet is probably to buy
the Newslook add-in which you can find here: http://www.ghytred.com/NewsLook/about.aspx

Go up to Tools
Customize

Then switch to the Commands tab

then scroll down to the "Go" menu
then in the other pane scroll down to "news"

Drag "news" over to your Outlook toolbar.

I did this and then it placed an icon on the toolbar. I then tried again and
the news had disappeared from the right column in the go menu. I couldn't
find it in any of the others. How do I restore and fix this.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.

I have that problem with 2003, however, the news has disappeared from the
"Go" Menu. It just isn't there, how do I get it back.
