Adding Monitor - i know its easy but

This time my pc is very happy as default monitor
but doesnt even show a monitor in device manager

on the display properties it wont even let me change driver ?

its base xp pro with no drivers at all yet + none of the motherboard bits &
pieces

once i loaded my graphic card software - it then allowed me to change
monitor

i just assumed basic xp would !
