Adding hours and minutes

As long as the cells are both time, just add them as normal. You might want
to format the result cell as [h]:mm to allow for more than 24 hours.

I have tried formatting the cells to time but it doesn't
work. I need excel to recognise that there are 60 minutes
in an hour so it will add up a column of numbers e.g. 5.40
(i.e 5 hours 40 minutes etc.)

Thanks
Lynn

When keying in the time make sure you use : between hours and minutes e
15:30. That should fix it.;
