Adding Format to e-mails in Outlook causes Word Errors

When I try to add formatting (such as bullets) to my e-mails, Word errors
out, deletes my e-mail and recovers it back in Word. Quite annoying! I've
tried repairing Word and that did nothing to fix the issues.

Anyone have any ideas on how I get rid of this problem (and what in the
world is causing it)?

Forgot to mention... I'm in Office 2003.
