I right click on the folder on the disk and try to unclick read only
attributes. It gives error message that it's still a read only file and I
must see adminstrator. I am the administraor on my computer. How do I resolve
this issue and be able to open a saved letter and add more info to it, and
then be able to save that?

Hello,

CD-RWs are not like normal drives, you cannot add/remove/delete files using
Explorer.

To modify/add/remove files, you have to "format" the CD, erasing everything
and then re-copying the files. Note that formatting will *erase* all data in
your CD-RW!

Some burning programs support "packet writing", which allow you to write to
the CD-RW as if it is a normal disk.

Some also support multiple "sessions" which allow you to add/remove files.

What burning software did you use to create the CD?

With XP built-in CD writing tools, CD RW are treated just like CD-Rs.
Yo can not add/modify/delete files from them. In order to do you you
want, you need to install a special CD-R(W) control like Nero's InCD or
Roxio's Drag to Disk.

What I do with these discs is transfer all folders & data to my hard
drive, then using Roxios drag to disk, I erase the DVD RW or CD RW,
then I return all of the folders & data back onto this clean disk. I
had a problem with this when I installed Roxio 9, it made all my discs
unwritable. Dont know why this happened, but this is the only way I
can make these discs rewritable again.
