adding columns

I'm creating a spreadsheet where I need a minimum of 1
column for each day of the year plus some, and I've just
discovered that there are not enough columns to do that.
And, I cant insert any extra.

Any suggestions welcome, other than the obvious one of
splitting the year over either double rows or 2 sheets,
which is not satisfactory for what I'm doing.

There is no way to insert more columns once you reach the limit of 255
All you can do is:

Overflow to the next sheet (you have already dismissed)

Work Horizontally instead

Use another spreadsheet package

When people run out of space the normal suggestion is to move to acces
as this gives extra rows. However it will not help find columns. To ru
out of columns suggests a redesign of the spreadsheet is required.
