Our Win2000 server had a drive crash and had to be
reloaded. Clients now have to be added back to the
domain which creates another user directory on the
client. Obviously this is a pain because everything has
to be reconfigured on the client, i.e., Outlook,
printers, documents. Is there a way around this? The
SAM DB was not backed up.

Eric,

If you mean by 'reloaded' that you had to replace the HDD, install WIN2000
and then install AD ( via the dcpromo process ) then it sounds like you have
wiped out everything and have created a new Domain / Forest. Is this what
you did?

I assume that this is the only DC that you had? And you did not back up the
System State?
