Adding captions to pictures in powerpoint presentation?

J

Joe Blo

I have a presentation where one slide is a collage of pictures. I
would like a text box to appear pointing to the specific picture, each
time I move the mouse over that picture or I click on the picture. I
have seen this done before in a powerpoint presentation, but have been
unable to figure out how to implement it. Does anyone have any clues.
Thanks

Joe,

Various methods may help.

You could use an action setting set to mouse over, and then hyperlink to a
slide with the text box over the picture. Then some sort of similar area on
the slide to mouse over, to go back to last slide viewed.

1. This link talks in part about Action Settings:

"Some files can contain viruses ..." message when clicking a hyperlink

2. This link is about a cool Vba method:

Go there, Come back
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00408.htm

3. You can also do this using some info from Sonia:

And look for number 16.

Else, please holler back for more help.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

It sounds that, although there are workarounds, you would like this to be a
lot easier to do in PowerPoint.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to
make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
