Adding a title to an existing slide ...

Used to add slides without a title ... no really need for it ... lots of
slides with only pictures ...

Now I want to publish to the Internet and the table of content is generated
from the titles ... but since I didn't use titles ... no table of content.

So the queston is ... How do I add titles to my slides?

thanks,

Go to the Format menu and choose Slide Layout. From there you can
recreate the slide title (by choosing a different layout that includes a
title or reapplying the same one). Type a title in the area and drag it
off the viewable area of the slide. That way, you will have a title, but
it won't show up on the slide itself.

Change your slide layouts to "title only" (looks like a blank slide with a
title). Then type in a title and drag the title placeholder off the edge of
the slide.

To make this faster, then go to View/Master/Slide Master and drag the title
placeholder off the edge of the slide there. Then it will already be off the
slides when you apply your new slide layouts.

You can apply the slide layout to all slides at once by selecting the slides
in slide sorter view and using "apply to selected slides" when you change
the slide layout.

To answer the second half of your question...
Once you have added the title placeholders, change from viewing the slide
miniatures to viewing the outline. Right now, it is probably blank other
than a column of slide icons. Click after the first slide icon where you
need to add a title and type that slide's title. Arrow down, type the next
one, and so on. In my experience, it goes much faster than typing the titles
into the placeholders.
