Adding a .pst Error

B

Brian

When tring to add an existing .pst file into Outlook I am
receiving this error. {Unknown Error: Error 0x80040600}
This only happens when tring to add an existing .pst, I am
able to create a new .pst without any errors.
If this is a problem with the .pst, does anyone know how I
extract some of my emails from the .pst.

Thank you

What version of Outlook? How are you trying to add the file? Does
File->Open->Outlook Data File work? Have you run detect and repair? Have
you run scanpst.exe against the offending file?

.
I am using Outlook XP. I have tried using the .pst
several ways. 1st I tried going to File, Data File
Management and then adding the .pst. 2nd I tried Right
Clicking Outlook, Properties, Data File, and then adding
the .pst, same error both ways

Try doing the one I suggested. File->Open->Outlook Data File.

I tried File->Open->Outlook Data File and then received
following error. Errors have been detected in the file
h:\Brian.pst. Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then
use the Inbox Repair Tool.
If the .pst is damaged, is there any way that I can
recover some of the emails from the .pst?
