Adding a page a template

OK forgive my newbieness on this one, but this has been driving me nuts all night. I've built a small site using a FP template and a standard theme. I went to add another page to the web site, I've done this through various methods and i cant find a way to get the new page added to the navigation of the initial template. Where my side navigation should be the new page says [Add this page to the Navigation view to display hyperlinks here] Does anyone know how i can do this? The existing pages in the template dont show the new page either.

Did you switch to the navigation view? The navigation view lets you position
a page in the document hierarchy. If you don't place it in the hierarchy, FP
can't know what pages are on the same level or the parent level so it can't
create the navigatoin bars and buttons. You can add the page to the
navigation view by selecting View | Navigation and you can drag the name of
the page from the Folder list on the side to the appropriate place in the
navigation.
