Adding a forum to existing website

Susan

I would like to add a forum to my existing website. Are
there any templates or instructions on how to do this? I
don't want to create a new website--add it to my existing
one.

Depends on what kind of server you're on...*nix or Windows...php or asp.

You can use the FP Discussion web, but be sure to add it as a subweb under your main site when
creating it.

This is something that I've wanted to do for a while but was afraid of
messing up the existing website. Could you be good enough to give some
detailed, step by step instructions on how to publish the FP Discussion web
as a subweb? I'd sure appreciate it. In particular, I'm a little fuzzy on
the concept of 'publishing a sub-web'.

In my case, I use FrontPage 2003 on a Windows XP Pro and my web is on
another machine of mine, a Windows 2003 Enterprise Server.

1. File Menu | Open Site
2. File Menu | New | More Web Site templates | Select Discussion Web Site
3. In the Location box, type the in WebName/DiscussionWebName then click Ok

WebName = name of your current open root web
DiscussionWebName = name of the folder you want to create to hold the discussion web.
