adding 3rd stick of ram A7N8X-E Dlx

im running mine in dual channel, which ive read some sites says that on AMD
systems theres no such thing up untill AMD64
i want to add a third stick of same ram, will it effect the dual channel? if
there is such a thing? please if u have any feedback would be much
appriciated.

if you use dual channel RAM you always have to put in PAIRS!
else the motherboard wont work! DUAL(2)channeling

The confusion regards Dual Channel Ram and AMD chips is down to this: Its
true that until you get onto some of the AMD64 processors, the PROCESSOR
cannot handle dual channel ram or the extra bandwidth it provides. However
that extra bandwidth that your dual channel chipset (not processor) provides
can be used by HDDs AGP Video, sound cards etc. Because that extra
bandwidth isn't available to the CPU, you wont notice any fantastic
improvement in speed by using dual channel, but systems running this way do
seem to run more smoothly especially if you are running audio/visual
oriented programs.

I am running my A7N8X-Deluxe rev 2.0 with 3 sticks of OCZ PC3200 ram...have
no issues and runs fine...I have read that dual channel is somewhat of a
myth...but I don't really know..

The A7N8X-E Dlx has only three slots for memory.

I also have this board.

For a memory update there are two option that I can see, one is to
replace both memory sticks being used or to get one new stick that is
twice the size of the current ones, then place the two smaller /
current ones into the same memory bank.

in my case, 2 256MB would become 256x2 and a 1 x 512

No idea on if this will effect performace, but I have seen a similar
motherboard do some things that a single channel board could not.
