Added Extra Hard Drive Any Help Appreciated

Hi
I have a PIII , running W2000 with the following set up ,
Primary IDE channel has 20GB Seagate as master and 40GB Seagate as slave
Secondary IDE channel has DVD as master and 80GB Samsung as slave
IDE controller card has Western Digital as master .

It is only today that I added the Samsung , the BIOS detects it OK , the
device manager sees it OK , the hardware wizard says the device is working
properly . However the drive doesn't show up in My Computer or Windows
Explorer . I know that before I could get my computer to see the 40GB
Seagate I had to use a program I think it was called disk wizard but it was
only meant for Seagate . Can anyone help with some advice as to how I can
get my computer to recognise this added Samsung hard drive ?

Thanks very much .

You need to initialise and format the drive from a account with
admin rights.
Right click My Comp and select 'Manage' then go to Disk Management
and do the above.
Or get there from control panel | admin tools.

Its Only Me Again

can I suggest you try fitting the Samsung as a slave to the 20GB Seagate.
Sometimes its not good practice to fit a HD as a Slave to a CDROM or DVD
drive.

Thanks for the tip , at present the drive is working OK as is the DVD , I
only use the drive for simple storage so hopefully it will continue to work
OK .
