add/remove programs

I would like to remove a listing in the add/remove programs utility.the
program was removed manually,but left its listing in the add/remove
list.Which means i can not reinstall the program.

Removed manually how exactly? Did you just delete the program's files and folders
without going through the formal uninstall routine? If so, you most likely have
numerous Registry entries for the program that are involved in your not being able
to reinstall it.

Have a look here at the procedures available to remove the entry from Add or Remove
Programs:

but don't be surprised if you still have problems reinstalling it, if you just
deleted the files and folders, leaving the program's Registry entries behind.

Sometimes, the easiest thing to try first is to reinstall the program and
then uninstall it again, using Add/Remove Programs. If that doesn't work,
then go on to more extreme measures.
