Add remove programs

Guest

I am trying to add Microsoft programs. Went to control panel, add remove
programs, Add remove Windows components. Followed the instructions with my
restore disk in the D drive.

Kept getting the message to insert Windows XP disk with SP2 to find
lmmib2.dll. All I have is my original repair disk wich does not have SP2
althought all microsoft updates are installed on the computer.

I found lmmib2.dll available all over the net, but am learey of installs
from unknown sites.

Any ideas where to get this file and how to install

Thanks

Have you tried searching the hard drive?
First make sure you can see all hidden files/folders.
In either MyComputer or Explorer:
On the Menu bar click Tools > Folder Options > View tab.
Make sure:
Display the contents of System folders is Selected.
Show hidden files and Folders is Selected.
Hide extensions for known file types is Not Selected.
Hide protected system files is Not Selected.
Apply > Ok out.

Click Start > Search > For Files and Folders.
Select any options for Advanced Search except to search tape drive.

Type in the top search box: lmmib
Leave the middle box blank:
Select a drive or select Browse from the bottom of the dropdown list and select
a directory/folder:
Click the Search button.
