Add/Remove Programs Problem

Many of the programs are missing from the list, yet are active from the
Start menu. Also, the Change/Remove buttons are grayed out on the programs
that are there.

Thanks Kelly for the information. I had searched your site and Microsofts
Knowkedge Base for any articles on this problem before posting and found
nothing similar.

This issue is on a friend laptop. It started when he had to call Microsoft
on a different issue. After 3 hours the issue was resolved but now this.

Is it possible they set him up as a new user and he doesn't have
adminsitrative rights?
