After Mcafee found and removed a virus from window 2000,
Add/Remove Progams ceased to function correctly. When you
activate the program the first entry states that there are
no registered entrys and the rest of the page is blank. I
am able to scroll down and see the installed applications
and I can highlight them, but the Add and Remove buttons
are not active so I can not uninstall any of my programs.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Greetings Jim,

This is due to a damaged registry key related to the
Add/Remove utility.

Open up a command window and type REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL, hit
return and when you access the Add/Remove utility again
from the START menu, it should work.

Kindest regards,

James

Hi

From the "Run" box try

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll

and
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\mshtml.dll

If that doesn't help, this article has more steps you can try:

Add/Remove Programs Tool Displays Installed Programs Incorrectly
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;266668

You might try to reinstall IE, the article above also tells you how to do that.

See tip 6032 at http://www.jsiinc.com/reghack.htm as well

If this doesn't help, try to reinstall the OS service pack you already have
installed (or install a newer one if possible).

If the problem persists, you'll could do an in-place upgrade of the OS and see
if it helps:
