add/remove programs icons messed up

When I open Add/Remove Programs, several (but not all) of the entries have a
box with a red X and the words Computer Graphic instead of the icon picture.
I looked to see if the entries missing the graphic had the "DisplayIcon" key
in the registry, but even after creating the "DisplayIcon" key and populating
it, the icon picture will still not show up.

Any hints?
