i want to hide things like the Qupdates and patches from my other users so they can't uninstall them. is there a registry value i can add to each of the things i want to hide in HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\
so my software list does no longer display KBXXXXXX or windows hotfix

Download TweakUI for XP.. you can hide elements of Control Panel like
'add/remove'.. they are not uninstalled, just hidden from general view..

Standard user cannot perform properly written install/uninstall procedure
which requires Admin or System rights. You can tune up registry Permissions
and deny access to the key mentioned appropriately.
