Hi,

I have a windows 2000 professional OS licensed version. When I tried to open
add/remove programmes in control pannel I get an error message " An
unexpected error occured. Object doesn't support this property or method
res://sp3res.dll/defult.hta Line:21 ". Could someone help me how to clear
this problem? I tried to use this command " sfc /scannow " and it ask me to
insert the CD, even though CD is inserted already.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the reply. I tried in all the ways whatever you
told, still problem is not solved.

OK let's start with your other issue the SFC not working. Have you changed drive letter assignments for the CD-ROM
since you installed. At a new install the drive letter assignment for the CD-ROM will be D:\ usually. Is that still your
assignment?

Hi,

Once again thank you very much. I have three drives, C drive where I have
installed OS, D drive CDROM, E drive is having some data.

Look here in the registry Start | Run | regedt32 | OK

Window | HKEY_LOCAL_NACHINE on Local Machine

Navigate to:

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup

Check the values for Installation Sources and SourcePath. Do they point to your CD-ROM drive and to a folder just
above the i386 folder. You can verify that by looking at the Windows 2000 CD-ROM in Windows Explorer. If those
settings are incorrect SFC will have troubles running because it cannot find the installation source.

Hello,

SFC started working, still when I open Control Pannel I get an error message

An error has occured in the script on this page

Line : 49
Char : 17
error : Library not registered
Code : 0
URL:file//c:\winnt\web\controlp.htt

When I click " no " Control Pannel window opens but when I click on add
remove programmes I receive another message " " An unexpected error occured.
Object doesn't support this property or method res://sp3res.dll/defult.hta
Line:21 ".

Then nothing will be visible.

Please help me to clear this problem.

Advance thanks

George
