add/remove list

Hello,
when I click on add/remove programs in control panel I do not see the entire
list of installed programs. The options are checked to show all hidden
files, etc so how do I get the list to show up.

What programs are you looking for?

It says Show hidden "updates" I believe, not "files"!!
 
I'm looking for symantec's software, but only the programs beginning with
the letter a appear in the list, so where is the rest of the alphabet???

Thanks, this (Kellys) is a great site, renaming the uninstall string in the
registry worked.
