Add or remove programs error

When I open the "Add or remove programs" applet in Control Panel it opens
with a huge gap in the middle. Half the programs (A to L) appear in the
normal manner but I have to cursor dowm more than 100 pages to find the
rest of the programs. What can I do to eliminate this gap? Any help would
be much appreciated.

Check the system date, you are posting a day in the future.

Thanks for your comment. In Australia we show our dates as dd/mm/yyyy. In
some other countries dates are shown as mm/dd/yyyy. I hope this explains the
apparent discrepancy.

No, that doesn't explain it. I am in Australia and I see your original
post (as zzron) as being a day out, (I answered you the day before
you posted it) though you appear to have changed the date since (as
Ron)

No that's not what's causing the problem. Your systems date/time is wrong.
You're posting from the future.

No, your messages *are* coming through in the future. If your system date
and time are correct then you are set for wrong time zone.

It doesn't matter that Eastern Australian Standard Time is ten hours ahead
of Greenwich Mean Time. If your computer has the date, time, and time zone
properly set, everyone's newsreaders see your messages with the date and
time proply corrected to their local time.

As I suspected.

Thanks for your help in sorting this little problem out.

You're welcome. Glad to help.

I followed up on a number of the suggestions offered without success.
However I have now solved the problem by running a "Repair " installation of
Windows XP.

I am grateful to those who offered me help.

Best Wishes

Ron
