Add or Remove Programs Blackedout.........

Has anyone seen this and or fixed it?

In Add or Remove Programs about halfway down the list there is a big
blackedout area then as you scroll down the rest of the list is there. It
doesn't cause any problems. Everything looks like its there. Just a minor
annoyance.

This may have started after installing Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots
or NFS3 Hot Pursuit with the two expansions.

Did you have to install DirectX or anything like that to help get those
games running?
This sounds kind of odd, but you may want to look into upgrading your video
drivers - sometimes glitches like the one you're describing can be resolved
that way.

Mike,

Before installing any games or programs, I completely updated XP. Direct X
and video drivers were updated before installing the games. Like I said, the
PC works great, it's just a minor annoyance.

I think Kelly came up with the answer. I'll try it when I get home.

Kelly saves the day. It wasn't exactly what was in the link you sent but it
steered me in the right direction. It was a Need For Speed Updater that did
not work. I just removed the reference from the registry and it dissapeared.
