Add new line in a cell

I must be suffering from oldtimerers disease but I can't remember how to
to add a new line inside a cell.

I have tried various combinations of alt, shift, ctrl, enter but I can't
get it.

Did you try alt-enter?

When I got your message I thought I tried that but I tried it again and
it worked.
