Add new hardware wizard

I don't really know which newsgroup this belongs in.

Every time I start Windows XP it apparently detects new
hardware(a printer) even though I haven't connected
anything new to my computer. I've tried pressing cancel
and installing this imaginary hardware but it doesn't go
away.
 
open the device manager,in view set it to show hidden devices and check for ghosted printers if you have any right click and disable them, also try finishing the new hardware wizard if it continues popping up reinstall the printer.get the latest drivers off the manufacturers website.
