Add Network Place missing?

B

Bruce.

XP Pro SP3

Using the Explorer, I double click on My Network Places, and in the right
pane there should be a choice "Add Network Place" choice. It launches a
wizard for adding a new link to the My Network Places.

See:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308416/)

I also have a seperate XP laptiop, and the "Add Network Place" is on that
one, just not my regular PC.

Any idea where it went or how to get it back?

Thanks,
Bruce.

Bruce,

The same thing happened to me. Fortunately, I have access to other PCs. On
the laptop that has Add Network Place, right click on it and select Create a
Shortcut. It will say it can't create it there, and offer to create it on the
Desktop. Let it do that, then copy it to the other PC.

Either save it to the other PC's Desktop, or put it somewhere under Start
Programs.

I recently rebuilt my PC and Add Network Places was there. I went to use it
the other day and it was gone. My guess is some update pulled it out. I
thought it was something in the company's GPO, but other PCs I checked are
all ok.
