add lookup capability to an existing field with existing data?

I have some employee data to import into a new database. One field is home
unit. I will be adding new records to this table and i want to be able to
use the lookup function so the data will be consistent.

I have created a table with the values I need, but when I try to make the
home unit field look at the other table, I loose the existind data!

How are you making the home unit field "look" at the other table?

I tried using the "lookup wizard" , but I quickly found out that that is not
the way to go.

I was hoping someone would tell me how to get the field to look at the table.

I figured it out. I created a form and added a list box that populated the
home unit field with the info from the home unit table.
